Forward March ~ 26 Oct 2014

With Mercury direct from his last pesky retrograde interval now in our rear view mirrors, and with the most recent eclipse cycle behind us, it’s time to reset life focus on the road ahead. During this last week’s solar eclipse, a massive sunspot formation clearly stood out, indicating the likelihood of pronounced solar activity. Yesterday, a different type of solar emanation occurred. This blast was not the typical coronal mass ejection, but an emanation that caused distinct interruptions in high frequency radio signals used by short wave radio operators, mariners and pilots. Be on alert though. The probability of those aura-shaking, energy- tripping, emotion-triggering solar emanations runs very high in the next days.

So, if for no reason, things feel more than funky, unsettling and difficult to process, consider that solar forces may be at work (beyond today’s conjunction of Venus, Sun and Pallas). Work to take time out for nature, head clearing, energy focusing and general emotional R & R.

Now in our look ahead, we get to savor Mars in Capricorn - a strong place for Mars to frolic. And as mentioned a post or two ago, he now traipses over a series of binary x-ray eclipsing pulsars, which triggers more than cardinal-style impulsive action; the transit triggers access to amazing, productive flashes of insights. (Refer to “Spin ~ 14 Oct 2014” in Sky Scraping 2014 Archives) Rest supports the activation of these insights. Don’t deny your body’s rest cycle. You can always DVR that late night “must see” program. Get sleep. If you can’t sleep, meditate. If you say you cannot mediate, think about life’s positives not connected to what you must do (even if you are excited about doing it). Lie still. Imagine colors of light soothing your body. If all else fails, count farm animals leaping over fences, like goats - Mars is in Capricorn.

This is a dedicated interval of “go get it,” extending through December 4th when Mars enters Aquarius. Here are a few steps to take in the next five plus weeks.

First, find that dusty list of what you wanted to accomplish this year.

Examine it. Should any goals not matter, delete them.

Establish progress made on objectives still valid.

Determine how much you can get done in the next weeks if your work with the benefit of the new, incoming pulsar insights, and if you assess the time to complete objectives upon the basis of energy required instead of time needed.

Get going. Every dang day. Ensure your duff is not acting as an anchor and advance. Once daily progress can be seen, the sense of inertia should thin.

When done with a good day’s effort, rest, repose and recreate.

Later next month, Mars squares the lunar nodes. If one has been active and intentionally applying Mars in Capricorn, progress will be measurable. A sense of being in charge of one’s fate fills the body with a warm glow. Persons working hard should feel great. Those persons slacking will likely determine that life’s outcomes are the faults of others hell bent on tossing obstacles onto their path. Or, it was the new legislative act, the failed patent attempt. Excuses are easy to come by, and each seriously debilitating.

Prior to this nodal aquare off, two potent check points occur in slightly more than two weeks, making sure everyone is up to the task, on track, and marching in perfect step.

On November 10th, Mars aligns with Pluto in Capricorn. On the global level, this could be testy. More international tension and fears of ebola and terrorism surely will rise. Though on a personal level, this can be good - very good. The passage arouses intention, accuracy of inner perception, clarity of personal motive, drive and determination. Avoid wasting time with explanations or justifications. Set your inner compass to the “full purpose in life” setting and get on with it. They say “the devil is in the details”; a phrase that personifies this transit. So be detail-attentive, motivation-clear and do the good deeds required to finish out this year in a good way.

Next, Mars moves onto square Uranus in Aries on November 12th. This could be a cranky, bitchy transit if one feels excluded, shut out, left behind, ignored or tossed out of the boat.

So, how can a tense, testy state of mind be avoided?

First, realize where you are on life’s game board. What rules, permissions and exclusions exist at this level? Follow them. That’s right, remember the I-Ching counsels that change is better made from within to without. Outsiders yelling through the gates of the chemical company that poisons food or makes an automobile air bag that explodes in hot climates, might want to vote, and/or work with others to create healthy food alternatives that will catch on, or inspire engineers to come up with better safety solutions. While “fight fire with fire” might be a Mars to Uranus in Aries battle cry, it can also create contradictions in solutions found, and cause more complications than it solves.

Next, think long-term when planning new doctrines, agendas, platforms or products. Will what you now engineer withstand the test of time? Is this a solution or a hastily applied patch fix that has its own issues? Go for the galactic goodness in insight and give them the same thing (to assuage the need for sameness and fear of change), only different, to honor Uranus and clearly place an enduring cornerstone for new foundations. Find solutions that do not threaten the bounds of comfort and familiarity, yet induce immediately recognizable improvements.

By the way, in tight midterm elections here in the U.S., it could be that some races will not be determined until Mars-Pluto align (accusations of corruption, fraud and demands for a recount) or Mars squares Uranus (what a surprising outcome!). Vote!!

Let’s go back to the possibility that Mars might point fingers at others when it squares the nodes should solid life progress fail to be in place. And, let’s recall that such denial of auto-life participation gets grander (not such a good thing) when Mars squares the shun-resistant planet, Eris. A solution to this tendency can be found on November 5th, should one seek it.

Saturn in Scorpio moves into a precise opposition with the enigmatic planetary-being Sedna, who now in Taurus, orbits way out there in space. The perihelion of Sedna is Cancer; the body’s node is Leo. A synthesis of these orbital prescriptions provides that life’s basic material necessities must first be met, then the pursuit of objectives that feed the soul then makes sense. With food, shelter and comfort in life secure, one can pursue spiritual quests that inspire the spirit to support the individual in becoming all she/he can be. A healthy dosage of these prescriptions offset potential Sedna-based maladies.

In the myth(s), Sedna resisted all her father’s efforts to match her with an appropriate suitor who would provide for her comfort and take care of her needs. Instead, Sedna ran off with a deceitful bird man, wearing an elaborate disguise to convince Sedna that he indeed lived in the upscale neighborhoods of the Arctic. When new, grim life circumstances led Sedna to realize her error in judgment, she appealed to her father for salvation. Her father came to her rescue, but when it came to his survival or hers in a face to face confrontation with a swarm of aggressive birds, daddy threw Sedna out of the boat to save his butt. Later Sedna extracted her revenge.

What’s the point of this grim story, especially when stirring in Mars?

Establish clear priorities for actions, pursuits and objectives that favor domestic well-being and spiritual evolution.

Make clear decisions that support the above priorities. These are your decisions. The decisions should be free of the clouds of environmental background; your own clear, conscious decisions. The fact that your mother always dressed you in non-matching socks to teach you individuality or humility, and the fact that your father may have career-obsessed and never had time for you, or what have you, cannot apply as excuses regarding the course you decide to take.

As real world, life results return, enjoy them. This is what you set out to accomplish; and you did!

With Mars in Capricorn - and with Mars exalted in Capricorn - fear not! Engage with Pluto and Uranus - transform, improve, innovate. And savor good karma building during the nodal transit. When Mars comes to Eris on the 24th, realize you have paved a new, improved path for your next steps... it’s better than taking steps. With these transiting planets enjoying a substrate of Capricorn, the innate cadence of Saturn applies... it’s time to “Forward March!”

More soon.
